There is something irresistible about a locked door, a whispered suspicion, and a truth that refuses to stay buried.

Welcome to my corner of the world.

My name is Allen Lockridge, and I am very glad you’re here. This website is the official home of my fiction, my books, and the stories I hope will linger with readers long after the final page. I’ve always been drawn to mysteries that do more than surprise. The ones I love most create an atmosphere you can step into. They carry a sense of place, a tension beneath polite conversation, and the feeling that every room holds a secret.

That is exactly the kind of fiction I want to write.

I’m thrilled to introduce my debut novel, Murder at Ashgrove Hall.

Set against the shadowed elegance of a great house and shaped by buried motives, reputation, class, loyalty, and deception, this first novel begins a world I have come to care about deeply. It is a story built for readers who love historical atmosphere, layered mystery, and characters who must navigate not only danger, but the weight of what people are willing to hide.

Writing this book has been both a challenge and a privilege. Every story begins with a question, but this one began with a feeling: the sense that behind polished manners and carefully ordered lives, people often conceal the most dangerous things of all. From that feeling came Ashgrove Hall, and from Ashgrove Hall came the mystery.

This site will be the place where I share updates on new releases, behind-the-scenes reflections, notes on the writing process, and occasional glimpses into the world behind the books. If you enjoy classic-feeling mysteries, historical settings, slow-building suspense, and stories where the smallest detail may matter more than it first appears, I believe you’ll feel at home here.

For a new author, there is something both exciting and humbling about sending a first novel into the world. Books are deeply personal things to write, but they only truly come alive when they are read. That is why I’m grateful for every reader who chooses to spend time in these pages.

This is only the beginning.

Thank you for being here at the start of it.

Allen
